Patient Information: What is Diclectin®?

Diclectin® is the only prescription medication specifically indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. It provides the anti-nauseant and anti-vomiting action of two different ingredients: doxylamine succinate (an antihistamine) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6).

Studies have shown that Diclectin® is safe for your baby throughout your pregnancy. This medication has been available for over 30 years in Canada and taken by more than 33 million pregnant women.

Diclectin® delayed release formula and dosing schedule provides 24-hour control of symptoms of nausea and/or vomiting. This may prevent the disease to progress to a more serious condition called hyperemesis gravidarum (HG).

Diclectin® tablets should be taken regularly for optimal effect. Your prescribing health professional may individualize your dosage schedule according to timing, duration, severity and frequency of your symptoms. It is important to follow his or her recommendations for the treatment to be most effective.
